Description and programme of the course
Requirements for the application and course fee

The masterclass is directed to conductors who want to increase their musical experience and work as professionals in the world of classical music.
The course is articulated in n°6 (six) days of lesson according to the schedule below. The lessons with the orchestra will be recorded and at the end of the day the students will discuss with the teahcers about their performance with the help of the recording.
The recording will be given to the students in digital format at the end of the course.

The best students will be recommended to be enrolled as guest conductors to relevant concert institutions in Europe and Asia (see “opportunities” below).

Thursday August 8
9.00 (9 a.m.) registration of the students
10.00 – 12.00 (10.00 a.m. – noon) lesson with 4 hands piano
13.30– 15.30 (1.30 p.m. – 3.30 p.m.) lesson with 4 hands piano
16.00 – 18.30 (4 p.m. – 6.30 p.m.) video session

Friday August 9

Tuesday August 13
Timetable to be defined: dress rehearsal and final concert.

Ludwig van Beethoven: the 9 symphonies
Active students must choose at least eight ( 8 ) movements from any symphony*, the teacher will decide which movements will be studied and rehearsed during the masterclass.
The programme of the final concert will be chosen during the week of the course.

* The IV movement of Symphony number 9 in D minor can be chosen only until before the entrance of the solo Baritone (Presto Ms. 216)

The applications will be processed in order of arrival, there is no admission examination, even if we expect a basic knowlege of conducting technique and recommend some experience in conducting professional orchestras.

Application fee: € 300
Participation fee: € 1300
Total cost of the masterclass: € 1600
The application fee of €300 must be paid at the moment of the application.
The participation fee of € 1300 must paid 50% before July 31, 50% the first day of the course.

The fee’s can be paid in Euro, American Dollars or Taiwanese dollars. The reference currency will be Euro and in case of payment in American Dollars or Taiwanese dollars the sum must be according to the current change.

Course fee, auditors: € 500,00

Meals and Accomodation
Meals and accomodation are up to the participants. The organization can offer assistance in finding a proper accomodation in Taipei for the period of the masterclass.
Prices for accommodation range from about € 10 per night in shared room.

The organisation and the teacher, by common consent, will recommend the best students to the following institutions:

– Taipei City Symphony Orchestra (Taiwan);

To the final stage of the masterclass will be invited representative of International Artists Agencies from Europe and Asia.

Final provisions
The courses will be activated with a minimum number of students.
The application fee will not be returned in any case, except the cancellation of the courses; in that case the students will be promptly advised. The partecipaton to the courses implies the full acceptance of the present rules.
The organization will give prompt notification of any modification of the rules that may occur.
