M° Günter Neuhold
Günter Neuhold was born in Graz, Austria, in 1947. In 1969 he completed his studies at the Graz Conservatoire with a masters degree. He then followed advanced courses in Rome with Franco Ferrara and in Vienna with Prof. Hans Swarowsky. Between 1972 and 1980 he was engaged at various German opera houses, a period he closed as first Kapellmeister in Hannover and Dortmund.
After winning several competitions (Florence 1st prize 1976; San Remo „Marinuzzi“ 1st prize 1976; Vienna „Swarowsky“ 2nd prize 1977; Salzburg „Böhm“ 1st prize, 1977 Milan, „Cantelli“ 3rd prize 1977), he began an international career. From 1981 to 1986 he was Music Director at the Teatro Regio di Parma, where he devoted most of his time to Verdi operas and Chief Conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica „Arturo Toscanini“. From 1986 to 1990 he was Chief Conductor and Musical Director of the Koninklijk Filharmonisch Orkest van Vlaanderen in Antwerp, which achieved an international reputation during this period and toured in Germany, Italy, Great Britain and France. Günter Neuhold was General Music Director at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe from 1989 to 1995. In Karlsruhe he performed a Richard-Strauss-Zyklus and the „Ring des Nibelungen“. From 1995 to 2002 he was General Music Director and Artistic Director at the Theater der Freien Hansestadt Bremen. From 2008 to 2014 he was Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Bilbao.

Andrea Vitello has recently gained an international reputation thanks to his Warner Classics CD with I Solisti della Scala, praised with words such as: “imposing performance” (Enrico Girardi, il Corriere della Sera), “highest standards of intonation and blend” and “beautifully lyrical and detailed” (Remy Franck, Pizzicato), “Fabulous” (Colin Clarke, Fanfare), “sharp and accurate” (Angelo Foletto, La Repubblica).
Andrea has conducted in venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Seul Art Center in Seul, Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Sala Verdi in Milan.
His discographic debut on the podium of the Ensemble BIOS, with Arnold Schönbergs’s Pierrot Lunaire, featuring Anna Clementi as a soloist, has raised international critic’s enthusiastic attention (American Record Guide, Das Orchester, Limelight Magazine, Musica Magazine, Amadeus etc…) and is considered a “One must have” recording of this piece, along with Pierre Boulez’ and Giuseppe Sinopoli’s ones.
He collaborates with several orchestras and ensembles such as the Soloists of La Scala Opera House, MáV Symphony Orchestra Budapest, Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra, Korea Soloists Orchestra Seul, Argento Ensemble New York, Koszalin Philarmonic Orchestra, Khabarovsk Symphony Orchestra.
Andrea Vitello is a keen interpreter of the contemporary repertoire. He conducted premiéres -both in concert and recording- by authors such as Peter Eötvös, Tristan Murail, Oliver Schneller, Andrea Portera, Alessio Elia, Albertas Navickas, Rita Ueda and promotes young composers discovering and conducting their music.
Andrea is also an enthusiast ambassador of Italian music and rediscovered and conducted several neglected works by less known Italian composers, such as Guido Alberto Fano, Silvio Omizzolo, Mario Pilati, Gian Francesco Malipiero.
Taipei City Symphony Orchestra
“Taipei City Symphony Orchestra” is a professional music institution which was established in 2013 by our music director Tsan-Yang Lee who was graduated from University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and hold more than 500 concerts in Taiwan.
We desire to organize the young professional and energetic orchestra through high artistic level of performance to rooted in Taiwan. Therefore our musicians are all graduated from excellent music University from all around the world and hold successful concerts regularly. The main mission of “Taipei City Symphony Orchestra” is to contribute and development art culture in Taiwan.
In addition to outstanding professionalism and a various music style, we also focus on promoting music education and teaching more than 40 youth orchestras in Taipei City.
Although a young orchestra, Taipei City Symphony Orchestra has hold many acclaimed concerts and worked with leading figures form the music world like Maestro Henry Cheng(USA/Taiwan) and Maestro Sigmund Thorp.
We hope that all our hard working not only help to make classical music more easy to access in our society, but also offer more opportunity for good musicians and students and bring Taiwan to connect the international world of music.
